Milissa Holland to seek second term as Palm Coast mayor

Milissa Holland has filed to run for re-election for a second term as mayor of Palm Coast. She was elected in 2016 and said she delayed announcing her candidacy because she wanted to make sure her daughter was healthy enough for Holland to feel comfortable serving.

Holland, who was also a Flagler County commissioner 2006-2012, said she is eager to continue as mayor so that she can continue to pursue initiatives that she helped to launch, MedNex in particular.

“I started this discussion with (state Rep.) Paul Renner and UNF almost three years ago,” she said, “and so it’s been a process. We’ve been able to be successful with every single hurdle. It’s all about partnerships. … I think it’s important that I remain a big part of this conversation in order to successfully see it through.”

She is also looking forward to seeing the Town Center Innovation District progress, as well as the creation of an Arts Alliance that would bring together many arts groups and venues.

Holland also touted her relationship in Tallahassee, saying she is best equipped to advocate for Palm Coast on the state level.

“I continue to have a very deep love for the city of Palm Coast and the people that reside in it,” she said.
